Mr. Sarj Akhund is a seasoned professional in the Engineering and Construction industry with over 40 years of experience. He is the lead Manager for the ICS’ multimillion dollar projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Akhund has worked on variety of projects in the U.S. and overseas.
His lengthy work experience includes working previously for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Bechtel Corporation, Parsons Transit Group, Athens Metro, SA and EMJ Engineers. His wide range of experience in Rail Transit Systems includes design, construction, commissioning and maintenance of essential equipment.
At Amtrak, he was responsible for the design of the Northeast Corridor Electrification, a high speed rail project, and retrofit of Traction Power substations. At Athens Metro, he was the Systems Construction and Commissioning Manager, responsible for the design, installation and commissioning of Telecom, SCADA, Signaling, HVAC including E/M systems for the 4 new metro lines including the line to the newly constructed Athens Airport. At Parsons & EMJ Engineers, he was responsible for the design and construction of the Light Rail System for the Baltimore MTA and the Salt Lake City, UTA projects. In addition, he was the Lead Manager for the replacement of obsolete power systems for the 5 story Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Presently Mr. Akhund is working as the ICS Project Director for the design-build contract of data centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Mr. Akhund is a member of IEEE, the American Arbitration Association & the National Traction Power Committee.
