Data center features 99.982% availability, a state-of-the-art cloud and VDI systems for strictest cybersecurity requirements. Saudi Vision 2030 is driving digitalization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. KSA government requires Data Centers and IT infrastructure for scalable operations and has high capacity to support high-density and compute intensive requirements.
ICS Nett was contracted for turnkey delivery Data Center and 24/7 Operations Center. Data center was required to be accredited by Uptime Institute Certification for Design (TCCF), Construction (TCCF) and Operational Sustainability (TCOS) for Tier III+. The data center was engineered on cloud and VDI systems, with the capacity to host high-density servers. It had to feature nearly 100% business and operational redundancy, a 30-day online, enterprise level, retention slash archive. It was required cyber threat analysis monitoring and networking/security monitoring. It was required of performing SIGINT and HUMINT data analytics, passport control, traffic violation, as well as a hotel and visitor database.
The scope was designed through a complex program management approach, and it included construction (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) work, Network and Security (Asset Configuration and Firewalls), Server and Storage (Configuration of Server and SAN), End Devices Management (Routers, VDI, and others), Infrastructure Migration (PSS Enterprise Migration), Data Center Management (Day-2 Operation Support), Private Cloud, and Training and Change Management. ICS Nett provided program management services, which included scheduling, engineering design reviews, technical reviews, testing, and adherence to all safety standards.
The project was not only able to stay in line with its anticipated budget, but it was able to achieve the construction of a state-of-the-art data center with total build-out area of 7,800 square meters. ICS Nett managed to ensure favorable cost control, timeliness of the delivery, and quality of the deliverables. With that, this multi-million-dollar design-build project required designing a Tier III data center and Enterprise Operations Center involving: the construction, installation, and commissioning of the physical building; IT/ (ICT) design and integration; procurement and delivery of all IT systems to include racks, servers, cooling, and storage solutions. ICS Nett was also awarded day-2 support for five years following construction and provided training on all systems.

UIP Data Center houses 463 racks. Data Center is accredited with Uptimes Institute Tier III+ rating for Design, Facility and Sustainable Operations, and ensures availability of 99.982% uptime, and downtime per year is expected not more that 1.6 hours. Prime-Power Generators to serve the required IT load and supporting facilities in N+N fault tolerant providing at least 72-hour of continuous operation at full load.
